If you've never seen True Blood on HBO, it's like if you did Twilight with adults, a way crazier story, and the characters all having sex all the time.
It's pretty much the best show on TV!
The first thing I think when I see that the cast is naked and fit: What are their workouts and diets like?Anna Paquin Said: "It's the "Well-what-would-you-eat-if-you-were-being-photographed-in-a-bikini-tomorrow?" diet."
"I mean, it's not anything wildly specific. I eat a lot of vegetables. I eat a lot fruit. I don't eat fast food ever. I don't eat a lot of dessert. I don't eat a lot of crap."
Urgent Goal = A Goal That's Going to Get Hit
I've never trained a girl getting ready for her wedding that didn't hit her goal. Ever.
Same thing for clients who've had 10 year or 20 year class reunions. Same thing for clients who had important birthdays coming up, like turning 50, or 40, or 30.
I had a client who lost 5% bodyfat the first month, then 3% bodyfat every month after that until he hit 10%. He said, "I don't mind turning 50, I just can't handle being 50 and fat."
And he didn't have to - he turned 50 in the best shape of his life. But it was REALLY urgent.
When it's urgent, it just has to get done. There's no time for B.S.
The Naked With Vampires Workout
Anna's trainer has her doing a whole bunch of awesome moves. Fat loss favorites like:
Box Jumps
Kettlebell High Pulls
Planks
What we used to call "Dragon Lunges" or "Dragon Twisting"
Pushups
Squats
Basically lots of big movements, explosive movements, kettlebell stuff, and lunge variations.
Dragon Twisting Lunges used to be popular around the kettlebell world about six years ago, they're awesome, and it's cool 'cause I haven't seen them in a long, long time.
He's into all kinds of lunge variations, and that's awesome.
Besides those strength moves, they do lots of swimming and boxing as well.
What really works is that these are the hardest, wickedest fat loss moves there are. I've written often about how powerful big movements are, the special awesomeness of kettlebell workouts, and why boxing is one of my favorite kinds of interval training.
Anna Paquin is basically doing everything that works, all at the same time.
The No Time for B.S. Plan: Details Not Necessary
I know some people reading this are going to say "Wait, Anna Paquin is doing kettlebell high pulls, but the article on Ashley Greene said she did kettlebell swings! What should I do, kettlebell swings or kettlebell high pulls?"
Someone who "needs to be in a bikini tomorrow" doesn't waste a month deciding between swings or high pulls, they just get a kettlebell and do both.
The same way that people get hung up on what to eat: Should I eat caveman? Jennifer Anniston eats on the Zone. But Katherine Heigl eats the 5 Factor Diet. What do I do?
Again, if you have to be in a bikini tomorrow, you probably are going to immediately eat some chicken and broccoli, and then sort out the rest of the details later.
The Truth Is, You Really Aren't Accountable For What You Eat
If you had to be naked on TV all the time, you might treat your food journal with a different kind of respect.
I mean really, how would your food look, if tomorrow you had to go to work wearing less than this:
Another Day At the Office, Sookie Gets Naked with Eric
Willpower helps, but it isn't enough.
Most people don't have that.
It's like, you want to look awesome naked... but you don't have to be naked on TV in front of a million people tomorrow, so it isn't that urgent.
And that's really what gets done in life, stuff that's urgent.
What Is Worth Getting Urgent About?
Ok, so you don't have a a bikini photoshoot tomorrow, and you aren't having naked vampire sex in front of an audience of millions tomorrow.
What IS worth getting urgent about?
Do you have any events coming up? Vacation? Family reunion? Are you going to see some old frenemy that you've competed with all your life? Post break up revenge body like Kim Kardashian? Birthday? A certain kind of outfit you've always wanted to wear?
Don't give me any B.S. like you just want to be healthy.
Tell me the dirty, nitty gritty truth - who do you want to notice?
What do you want people to say?
Where do you want to look good?
What ever REALLY matters to you, that's really going to make this worth doing.
