Britney Spears Comeback Plan

Having been pregnant with two sons, Britney Spears' weight jumped from 120lbs to 160lbs.

It's reported that in a month and a half that Britney has lost almost half of that weight - 26lbs.  I know there are tons of people in the gym that would love to lose an 26lbs of fat, and are dying to know Britney's secret.  I should mention that 26lbs in one month is actually an excessive amount of weight to lose, and that a healthy weight loss goal is 2lbs per week.  And make sure to have a body-fat test so you can make sure that the weight you lose is week is fat, not muscle.

How Did Britney do it?

The answers will shock you:
1.) Britney stopped eating fast food three times per day.
2.) Britney eats six small meals per day, including healthy snacks like fruit and nuts.
3.) Britney works out twice a day, six days per week.
4.) Britney's workouts include weight training and cardio.

Now don't get me wrong, there is an art and a science to putting together each one of those components with maximum efficiency.  That being said, it's always shocking how simple the basic overview really is.

Also, you have to give Britney props for the complete style make over.  I mean, one day she's white trash K-Fed Britney, and the next day she's the hot pop-star Britney Spears we all remember from two years ago.  It's not just that she lost 26lbs.  She dumped a bad relationship.  She's working on new music to re-start her career.  She baught some new clothes with the help of her stylist.  All of that, and she lost 26lbs.  It's all in the context of a new beginning.  Or maybe for Britney it's getting herself back.

A big step for many of my clients is changing context.  If the context of your workouts and nutrition plan is negative, like to fix something that is broken, then the process is slow.  If the context is something positive, the process is usually fast, fun, and easy.  One of my new clients came to me today and said "I want to look like a Victoria Secret model."  That is a pretty cool context.  That is a fun game to play.  I'm sure we'll get her there.  She is my ideal client - she already works out and eats pretty well, but has plataued.  And busting through those plataues is easy when someone has the right context, it's just a matter of making the right technical adjustments to their workouts.

If the context is right, and you know what to do, then you will do the right things.

So take a look at your workout program and your eating plan.  What is the context that your workout program lives in?

Bad contexts usually revolve around feeling fat.  Or feeling weak.  Or feeling bad about something.  Or being unhappy with your body.

Britney's context for working out is that she's bringing herself back to international pop-star shape.  That's a really inspiring context.

Your context for working out and eating right might be that you want to look your best for your wedding.  Or that you want to look awesome on vacation.  A great context for working out is because it's fun.  Or because working out makes you feel good.  One of my friends told me that her context for working out is that it's grounding and centering, that it's her time to restore herself.  That is a great context.

If you change your context, you may find a completely new energy to your workouts and nutrion.  Or you might just find a Britney Spears like comeback plan dropping into your life.
